RIGHT FROM THE START

Research shows that how parents are listened to, and how the news is shared with them when their child has additional needs, can have a profound effect on the outcomes for the child and family. It can also impact on how parents interact with the professionals that they will meet on their journey of having a child with additional needs.

FREE workshop
Right From The Start to enhance professional practice in supporting the family’s journey from the first concerns that a parent may share with a professional when their child may have additional needs or a disability, to considering a diagnosis and into the support and information that families will need throughout this process.

The recent Norfolk Diagnosis Survey Report and the recommendations within that report have been used to support the training and make it locally relevant. A copy of the report can be obtained from http://www.nansa.org.uk/right-from-the-start-rfts/
