Returning to School

For the attention of those returning to school June 1st.

25th May 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

Your child has a place in the reduced provision from 1st June, these are for the days we have previously agreed.

 I attach some information that may be helpful in preparing your child for returning to school.   A social story and video will be put on the school’s website very soon.

The kitchen is only offering school packed lunch (no hot meals), so please send some extra snack or otherwise bring a packed lunch.   Please ensure they have a labelled water bottle.

Pupils will be grouped in a “bubble” this will be based in either Rabbit class, Beech class or Avocet class.  They will use separate entrances, separate playgrounds and separate toilets.  Staff will work on a weekly rota and will be the same staff for the week.

The table below shows which bubble your child will be in; which playground, entrance and toilets to use. If you collect your child, please queue whilst maintaining a 2m spacing to wait for your child at their specified entrance.

The dining room and other communal areas (e.g. soft play, pool ICT room) will not be used for now.  Pupils will stay in their “bubble” for the time being.  Over the weeks we expect to be able to gradually accept more pupils into school free up more spaces.

There are between 3-6 children in each bubble on any one day in order to maintain enough spacing between children.  Children will have their own desk and chair or space or room with toys assigned for their use.

Please do not bring any toys from home.

For now, there isn’t an expectation to wear uniform, although the routine and familiarity of uniform may be beneficial for some pupils.  Pupils will be encouraged to play and learn outside, so please send a hat and dress accordingly. Apply suncream in the morning before leaving for school.

If you have any questions, please do email and ask;

Best wishes,
